habits

Actions done so often that they become natural—requiring little or no emotional or cognitive effort. Many of our habits embody and reinforce the risk mindset (which is inappropriate for uncertainty). In this newsletter, I often advocate for creating habits (both individual and organizational) which embody and reinforce the uncertainty mindset instead, for instance by creating routines that generate ambient uncertainty or forcing functions for productive discomfort.
